Japan chasing Fiji’s Sevens coach Ryan

Japan want Ben Ryan for their Sevens and their Super Rugby team

Fiji Sevens coach Ben Ryan has revealed that he has had coaching offers from Japanese Super Rugby side the Sunwolves as well as franchises in New Zealand and Australia.

Ryan coached Fiji to Olympic Gold in the Rugby Sevens but his contract comes to an end on September 3rd.

The Sunwolves have yet to sign a coach for the 2017 Super Rugby season and their coach this season Mark Hammett has returned to New Zealand.

According to a report in the FijiVillage Ryan has also been offered a position coaching the Japanese 7s team.

Englishman Ryan says that at this stage he has not made a decision on where he will be coaching after September and just wanted to get home and “reset” to reflect on his recent achievements.

Ryan said that he has been approached by almost 20 teams looking to sign him up.
