Italy replace Esposito with Favaro in RWC squad

Italy have called Glasgow Warriors wing Simone Favaro into their Rugby World
Cup squad as an injury replacement for Angelo Esposito.

Esposito had his Rugby World Cup hopes dashed by a shoulder injury which has
ruled him out of the tournament.

Esposito, originally part of the 31-man squad named by coach Jacques Brunel
last week, suffered the injury in Italy’s record 48-7 defeat to Scotland last
weekend.

It was the Italians’ second consecutive defeat to the Scots after a 16-12 reverse
in Turin two weeks ago.

The Italians have been drawn in a tough Pool D with France, Six Nations champions
Ireland, Canada and Romania for the tournament which is being hosted by England
and runs from September 18 to October 31.
