Italy recall Geldenhuys and Masi for Six Nations

Italy coach Jacques Brunel has recalled lock Quintin Geldenhuys and fullback Andrea Masi to his 30-man squad for their inal two Six Nations matches at home to France and Wales.

Zebre lock Geldenhuys has missed all three of Italy’s games so far with knee ligament damage while London Wasps’ utility back Masi returns after missing the 22-19 win away to Scotland last weekend with a deep wound in his calf.

Italy’s win at Murrayfield was their only victory in this year’s tournament following defeats at home to Ireland (23-6) and away to England (47-17).

But they will be hoping it provides the foundations for what should be a battling performance against France on March 15 before Wales visit the Stadio Olimpico a week later.
