Preparations for Saturday’s Absa Currie Cup rugby semi-final against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria, did not start on a high note for the Vodacom Free State Cheetahs.
According to the sport website of the local radio station, OFM, the participation of the Cheetahs flyhalf, Jacques-Louis Potgieter, in Saturday’s semi-final is in doubt due to a hand injury.
“He will see a specialist today. Only after that can we judge the seriousness of his injury,” Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské told OFM.
Drotské also confirmed lock David de Villiers will see a specialist after injuring his ankle in the match against the Boland-Cavaliers.
Good news for the Cheetahs is Adriaan Strauss (hooker), Robert Ebersohn (centre) and Hendro Scholtz (flanker) will be available for the semi’s after missing out against the Cavaliers due to injuries.
