Fiji knock NZ out, SA knock Australia out of Olympic Sevens

Semi Kunatani in action for Fiji

Fiji and South Africa have progressed to the Sevens Semi-finals in the Olympics after winning their quarter finals.

Fiji beat New Zealand 12-7 in their quarter final and will meet Japan in the Semi-finals.

South Africa beat Australia in their QF and they will face Great Britain in their Semi-final on Thursday.

Fiji have never won an Olympic medal and should they beat Japan they would be gauranteed either a silver or a gold medal.

A loss to Japan would see Fij playing the winner of the Great Britain v South Africa clash for the Bronze medal.

South Africa downed Australia 22-5 and Britain edged Argentina 5-0 in extra-time.
