Elsom appeals one match ban

Australian flank Rocky Elsom has appealed against a one-match suspension following his citing for an incident in Saturday’s Tri-Nations Test between Australia and South Africa in Durban.

A Sanzar judicial hearing found him guilty of pulling down South African lock Victor Matfield in a lineout and suspended him from all rugby until Monday, September 1st.

Elsom’s appeal will be heard by telephonic conference on Thursday.

The time and composition of the Sanzar Judicial Panel will be advised in due course.

Elsom won man of the match in last week’s clash against the Springboks and was his return match after suffering an injury in the match against the All Blacks in Sydney.
