Chester Williams to coach in Romania

South African coach Chester Williams has signed a pre-contract to coach Romanian rugby union side Farul Constanta, club executive director Aurelian Arghes told AFP on Monday.

“We’ve signed a pre-contract and have his promise to come to Constanta for a year with an option for a second year,” said Arghes.

“But he’s (Williams) in South Africa studying the possibilities there and because his visa for Romania has expired.”

Arghes said he was confident however that 38-year-old Williams would arrive before the championship gets underway on September 20.

Williams, a 1995 World Cup winner with the Springboks, arrived in Romania last year to take up the position of technical director with Dinamo Bucharest.
