Blue Bulls all but end Sharks Currie Cup hope

Lappies Labuschagne tackles Kyle Cooper of the Sharks

The Blue Bulls all but ended the Sharks hopes of reaching the Currie Cup play offs when they beat the Durban side 13-17 at Kings Park.

The Blue Bulls outscored their hosts two tries to one in very humid conditions at the KZN coastal town venue.

The result means that the Bulls have now recorded their sixth win of the season and will remain second on the overall standings behind the pace-setters, Jukskei neighbours, the Golden Lions.

With this defeat, the Sharks look likely to miss out on a semifinal spot at the end of the season.

Next weekend, the Bulls will host the EP Kings at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria while the Sharks travel to Kimberley to face Griquas.
