All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen has added Matt Todd to his Rugby Championship squad preparing to face South Africa’s Springboks in Christchurch.
Todd comes into the squad as replacement for Sam Cane who injured his hamstring in the victory over Argentina and is expected to miss up to the next six weeks of rugby.
Cane’s injury opens the door for Ardie Savea to come into the All Black starting line up with Todd possibly being named on the bench this weekend.
Twenty-four-year-old Cane came off the field early in the second half of the Rugby Championship match in Hamilton on Saturday.
Loose forward Todd has played three Tests for the All Blacks and made his debut for New Zealand in 2013 against France in New Plymouth.
