2011 England

The 2011 Six Nations Championship was played between February and March and was won by England - their first since 2003. England just missed out on a Grand Slam as they lost to Ireland who put in the performance of their tournament which earned them third place behind France.

2010 France

(Grand Slam)
The 2010 Six Nations tournament kicked off on Saturday the 6th February at 14:30 GMT when Ireland hosted Italy. That match was followed by England v Wales. France started their Six Nations campaign at Murrayfield against Scotland and after beating their Northern hosts 9-18 they went on to claim their first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2004.

2009 Ireland

Ireland won their first Grand Slam in 61 years after they beat Wales by 15 points to 17 in the last match of the 2009 Six nations. The result meant that Ireland came first, England second and France third and Wales fourth in the 2009 Six Nations. Scotland came fifth and Italy sixth.

Wales won the 2008 RBS 6 Nations Championship and they got the Grand Slam by beating all teams and conceded only two tries throughout the tournament. England came second and France went from Champions to third place.

In a world cup year it has always been important to have a good showing in the Six Nations and France did that. Had they not lost to England at Twickenham they would have also won the Grand Slam.

The 2006 RBS 6 Nations Championship was the seventh series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship. One of the biggest shocks of the tournament was Scotland's suprise win over France at Murrayfield. It was less of a shock when Scotland followed that up with another win over England at Murrayfield.

The was Wales Greatest year in the Six Nations. It came just ahead of the British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand and everyone who was eligible was playing to get into the tour. Wales started their Grand Slam at home against the old enemy England.

The 2004 Six Nations Championship was the fifth series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship. England had just won the Rugby World cup but they took their eye off the ball and as Clive Woodward pointed out they were suffering from a World cup hangover.
