Gloucester hold off Wasps second half sting

Gloucester’s league run continued to 17 wins in a row as they snuck home by one point against last year’s Heineken Cup Champions Wasps.

Gloucester are now four points clear at the top of the Guinness Premiership table ahead of Leicester.

Gloucester were forced to rest Lesley Vainikolo with a knee injury and coincidentally they failed to score a try in the match and relied on Ryan Lamb’s boot for all of their points.

Despite the lack of tries being scored the Premiership leaders were ahead 12-3 at the break.

Wasps were without a number of their England stars fought back their half time points deficit to come within a point which started when Ryan Lamb was sent to the bin with yellow card.

Waldouck scored Wasps last try and the conversion made the scores 18-17.
