Carter sidelined with Calf injury

Dan Carter will miss the Crusaders’ first Super 14 warm-up game on the 22nd of January after sustaining a calf injury.

The match is against the Hurricanes in Motueka and takes place this Friday night.

Carter was seen limping off in the 2007 World Cup quarter-final in Cardiff with a similar injury when he was forced to watch New Zealand knocked out of the world cup.

Stephen Brett and Leon MacDonald are the favourites to replace Carter for this Friday’s match

Brett however is stuggling with a quadriceps strain so MacDonald may take they lead due to this.
