Serfontein to coach the Bulls in the Vodacom cup

Nico Serfontein has been appointed as the head coach of the Blue Bulls’ Vodacom Cup as well as under 21 team.

He was the head coach of the under 19s from 2005-2007 and during the last two seasons he was responsible for the Vodacom Cup team’s backline.

In 2005 and 2006 his under 19s won the national title and last year they were the losing finalists. Serfontein was the head coach of the all conquering under 20 teams in 2003 and 2004 and back in 2002 he had his first stint as head coach of the Blue Bulls’ Vodacom Cup team.

Serfontein’s coaching record at professional level over the last 7 years (11 competitions) demonstrates a win-rate of over 75 percent.

Denzil Frans (forwards) and Ricardo Loubscher (backs) will be his assistant coaches. Serfontein says he is excited about the opportunity to coach the Vodacom Cup team and during the last couple of years it was great to see how the Bulls have grown as a franchise.

“The structures that are in place at Loftus are very helpful when you have to coach at different levels and the fact that the Bulls are a well-oiled machine is also a great plus.”
