Springboks winger Ashwin Willemse scored his first try in France to help Biarritz beat Montauban 10-8 on Friday in the French Top 14 championship.
The victory was also a timely boost for the French giants who tackle Saracens next weekend in a crucial European Cup tie which could make or break their quarter-final hopes.
Willemse, a member of South Africa’s World Cup winning squad last year, crossed for his try in the 25th minute after being released by scrum-half Julien Dupuy.
