Tuilagi suspended for punching

A Rugby Football Union Disciplinary Hearing at the Leeds Brighouse Holiday last night (December 3, 2007) suspended Leeds Carnegie player Anitela Tuilagi for four weeks for striking contrary to Law 10(4)(a) in the match between Leeds Carnegie and Leicester Tigers at Leeds on Saturday, November 24, 2007.

The four week ban runs until December 26, 2007 when he will then be able to resume playing. This means that he misses two European Challenge Cup ties against Calvisano and Bath.

He will however be vailable for Leeds’ Guinness Premiership clash with Sale Sharks on December 30.

The Disciplinary Panel was chaired by Antony Davies assisted by Clif Barker and David MacInnes.
