Jack and Russell make Saracens debuts

Brent Russell and Chris Jack both made impressive debuts for the Saracens as they ran out 63-0 winners in the Guinness A-League clash against Bath at Old Albanians on Monday night.

The duo played 60 minutes of the match and did enough to show they can be considered for selection for Saturday’s Heineken Cup clash against Viadana at Vicarage Road, kick off 3pm.

The two internationals were both getting their first run outs for Saracens with All Black Jack having arrived last week and Springbok Russell having his start to the season delayed after breaking a collarbone in pre-season training.

But the full back showed little signs of rustiness as he crossed the line for a try with just two minutes on the clock and set up another two scores to demonstrate his lightning speed and elusive running while Jack looked impressive in the second row and also showed his deft handling and skills around the pitch.

In all the Men In Black ran in nine tries with Noah Cato (2), Edd Thrower (2), Alan Dickens, Sakiusa Matadigo, Guthrie Hall, Harry Owens and Russell all crossing the line.
