Saracens seal it with a late Haughton try

Saracens were victorious on Sunday when they beat London Irish 24 -20. London Irish took the lead through Delon Armitage’s try but then Gordon Ross landed a drop-goal. He later added two penalties.

London Irish fought back and Armitage slotted two penalties which put the Exiles ahead again. The lead changed hands several times in the match as both sides battled it out.

New Australian and Waratahs recruit Peter Hewat’s two penalties helped keep the Exiles’ in the match. Adam Powell scored a try putting Sarries back in the lead before two Irish penalties saw the Exiles in front again.

Richard Haughton’s late try however gave Sarries the victory.
