Final bow for James

Canada veteran Mike James will make his final World Cup appearance when the Canucks come up against the Wallabies at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux on Saturday.

The 34-year-old, who retires from the international game after the World Cup, is one of five survivors in the forward pack that took to the field in the disappointing 12-12 draw with Japan on Tuesday.

Mike Burak and Aaron Carpenter are relegated to the bench whilst Adam Kleeberger drops out of the 22-man squad.

Sean-Michael Stephen joins the team at the back of the scrum while Dave Biddle will slot in at openside flank. Luke Tait will join James in the second row.

Meanwhile, centre Craig Culpan and fly-half Ryan Smith miss out on the action.

Exciting utility-back Dth van der Merwe has been shifted to full-back with replacement wing Justin Mensah-Coker getting a start on the right wing.

Mike Pyke, who played full-back against Japan will relish his new role at outside-centre while Ander Monro will start at pivot.

Dave Spicer has been relegated to the bench for Canada’s final World Cup game, making way for Derek Daypuck in the midfield.
