Jordan Turner-Hall hangs up his playing boots

Former England international and Harlequins centre Jordan Turner-Hall has announced
that he will retire from the game due to injury.

Commenting on the news, Jordan said,”Overall I’ve had so many
great memories playing at Harlequins and although my career has sadly had to
be cut short due to injury, they are memories that will live with me forever.

“Playing with your best mates week in week out is what makes playing
for Harlequins brilliant; you enjoy training and you enjoy the buzz that you
get before each game and it’s something I’ll miss hugely.”

The Camden-born one club man began his career at Hove RFC, before joining the
Harlequins Academy in 2005.

At just 17, Jordan made his senior debut against Birmingham and Solihull Bees
in, the then, National One. Quickly establishing himself as an invaluable midfield
player, he helped the Club to promotion in 2006.

Developing into one of the most powerful and destructive centres in the Premiership,
he played a pivotal role in the back to back victories against Stade Francais
during the 2008/09 Heineken Cup campaign.

His electric form domestically saw him named as 2009’s Land Rover Discovery
of the season.

During his ten year career, he made over 150 appearances for the Club, winning
silverware with the Amlin Challenge Cup and the Aviva Premiership.

Having represented his country from U16 to U20 level and playing in England’s
uncapped fixture against The Barbarians at Twickenham in 2010, Jordan was named
in Stuart Lancaster’s England squad for the 2012 Six Nations.

Earning two Test caps during the victories over Scotland and Italy, he was
recalled into the squad to tour South Africa later that year.

Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea added,”Jordan has been a very special
person to have around the Club and will be missed by us all both on and off
the pitch.”

“He has played at times with no regard for himself, but always for the team
and I know everyone in the Club will support him in whatever his future holds.”

Off the field, Jordan is hugely respected among his peers and supporters, a
true squad member and an inspirational mentor to younger members of the squad;
his day to day presence around the Club will be missed by all associated with
Harlequins.
