All Black wing Naholo out of World Cup

All Black Waisake Naholo’s hopes of playing in the Rugby World Cup have been dashed by an injury he sustained playing in his debut test for New Zealand.
Naholo, an emerging star of New Zealand rugby who topped the try-scoring table in this year’s Super Rugby competition, had his World Cup hopes dashed when he broke a bone in his leg during his debut Test against Argentina.
“He’ll be out for three months which means he’s going to miss the World Cup which is pretty disappointing for him and for us,” Hansen said.
Naholo played for 50 minutes of the 39-18 victory over the Argentina in Christchurch and then limped off with a leg injury that turned out to a leg fracture.
“He has got a cracked bone in his fibula,” coach Steve Hansen told Fairfax.
“So he will be out for three months, which means he is going to miss the World Cup which is pretty disappointing for him and for us.”
Hansen said that there is an outside chance that Naholo could still make the Rugby World Cup if they require an injury replacement in the final stages of the tournament
