Bulls begin search for new Super Rugby coach

The Bulls have announced that head coach Frans Ludeke has stepped down as their Super Rugby and Currie Cup coach with immediate effect.

Vodacom Cup coach Nollis Marais has been appointed as Currie Cup coach but no Super Rugby coach has been appointed yet.

Ludeke joined the Bulls in December 2008 from the Lions and has recently been linked with the Director of Rugby role which has not been filled since Heyneke Meyer left to become Springboks coach

The Bulls say that discussions with Ludeke about his future are ongoing as well as the process to appoint a new Head Coach for Super Rugby 2016 and an announcement will be made as soon as this has been finalized.

Victor Matfield has been linked to a coaching position with the Bulls but this is more likely to be an assistant coaching position than a head coach position.

Ludeke won two Super Rugby titles with the Bulls in 2009 and 2010.
