Crusaders beat Brumbies in Canberra

Out of the last six Super Rugby matches between the Canberra based Brumbies and the Christchurch Crusaders the Christchurch side have won five and the Brumbies one.

The Brumbies kick off and we are underway. 

2.00: The Brumbies are awarded a penalty early on for offside. Nic White kicks for the corner and the line out.

3.00: The Brumbies win the line out and use the maul. David Pocock powers through and drops to score. TRY! 

4.00: Christian Lealiifano adds the conversion. 

5.00: The Crusaders look to hit straight back and Kieran Read almost gets through but is stopped. The Crusaders keep the ball alive and they go wide to Nemani Nadolo who scores in the corner. TRY! That makes him the first Crusaders player to score in five consecutive matches. 

7.00: Tom Taylor misses the conversion from the touchline. Dan Carter did not take the shot as he was being looked over by the medics having taken a knock and a complaint of a sore neck. 

9.00: Crusaders back on the attack in the Brumbies 22. They go through 8 phases and get to the middle of the 22. Carter kicks for Nadolo outwide but the ball goes into touch. 

11.00: Penalty to the Crusaders. Carter takes the shot and nails it. The Crusaders lead. 

13.00: The Brumbies try to punch their way through the middle with Tevita Kuridrani but get stopped. The Crusaders do however concede a penalty. Lealiifano kicks for the corner. 

15.00: The Brumbies win the line out and use the maul again. The Crusaders stop it dead so they move the ball out to the backs and Robbie Coleman gets flattened by Nadolo. The Brumbies get a penalty for offside. 

16.00: Lealiifano slots the penalty kick and the Brumbies lead again. 

18.00: The Brumbies win a line out but they knock on which gives the Crusaders a scrum. 

19.00: Crusaders win a penalty from the scrum. They kick for touch and line out. 

20.00: The Crusaders win the line out and run the ball into the Brumbies 22. 

22.00: Scott Fardy concedes a penalty for going off his feet after 10 phases from the Crusaders. Carter lines up the kick. He nails it. Crusaders lead. 

25.00: The Crusaders continue to attack the Brumbies and Matt Todd slips through to score in the tackle. The TMO rules that he lost the ball. He got the ball from a fantastic offload from Jone Macilai. Brumbies 5m scrum. 

27.00: The Brumbies concede a penalty at the scrum – front row collapsing. The Crusaders kick for the corner and line out. 

28.00: The Crusaders win the line out and use the maul. It is slowed so they go wide and after a couple of phases Matt Todd scores. TRY!  Todd has now scored a try in five consecutive matches. The first forward in Super Rugby to do so. 

30.00: Carter misses the conversion. 

33.00: The Brumbies go on the attack in the Crusaders half. They knock on so the ref allows the Crusaders to play on but when the ball goes dead they are called back for the knock on. 

36.00: The Crusaders get the ball down into the Brumbies half but it slows and the Brumbies turn the ball over. They kick upfield – the Crusaders kick it back and into touch. 

38.00: The Crusaders win the line out and they get the ball out to Nadolo, he chips ahead and chases the ball and dives on it to score. TRY! Carter misses the conversion. 

39.00: David Pocock jogs off the pitch. Unclear why.  

40.00: The siren sounds for half time. The Crusaders kick for touch.

The Crusaders kick off and we are underway. David Pocock has failed a concussion test. 

41.00: The Crusaders win the ball back and they go wide. Jesse Mogg is judged to have slapped a ball down as the Crusaders get an overlap and he is yellow carded. 

42.00: Carter slots the penalty and extends the lead. 

45.00: The Brumbies are on the attack and Luke Romano slaps the ball down. He is judged to have been offside but the Brumbies are not happy he has not been carded. Stephen Moore argues with Ref Peyper to look at the video. The Brumbies kick for the corner. 

47.00: The Brumbies win a penalty for McCaw collapsing the maul. The Brumbies go again with the line out and maul but this time Sam Whitelock collapses the maul and he is shown a yellow card. 

48.00: The Brumbies go to the maul again and Jarrad Butler is driven over and scores. TRY! 

49.00: Lealiifano adds the conversion. 

50.00: The Brumbies kick upfield. Joe Tomane chases and is tackled as he comes down. Moore wants a penalty but he is not getting one. 

51.00: Dan Carter goes for the drop goal but misses. 

52.00: Robbie Coleman is replaced by Matt Toomua. 

56.00: The Brumbies spread the ball wide to Henry Speight but he knocks on. 

59.00: The Crusaders win a penalty. They kick for touch and the line out. They win the line out but then lose the ball. 

60.00: The Crusaders win the ball back and then win a penalty for not rolling away. They will kick for posts. 

62.00: Carter takes the kick and he nails it. 

65.00: The Brumbies win a line out on the 5m line. They set up the maul go right and then left and Jarrad Butler scores. It’s actually a penalty TRY! 

66.00: Lealiifano slots the conversion. 

68.00: The Brumbies have lifted. They go on the attack in the Crusaders half. They lose the ball and the Crusaders counter attack and then kick. 

69.00: Henry Speight comes off injured. Shoulder. 

71.00: The Crusaders win a penalty. They kick for the corner and the line out. 

72.00; The Crusaders use the maul and McCaw looks to have scored but a penalty TRY has been awarded. Its a bonus point try. 

73.00: Carter slots the conversion. Stephen Moore comes off. 

76.00: Penalty to the Crusaders for offside. They think about going for posts but decide to go for the try and the line out. 

77.00: The Crusaders win the line out and after a couple of phases they win another penalty. This time they will go for posts. 

78.00: Carter slots the penalty. 

80.00: The siren sounds. The Crusaders kick the ball out. The Crusaders have won.
