Remaining matches for Super Rugby title hopefuls

The conclusion of Super Rugby Round 16 means that there are just two rounds left of the regular Super Rugby season and here we look at what lies ahead for the hopefuls.

The Hurricanes lead the overall standings on 57 points and have two matches remaining and have qualified for the play offs. The Highlanders have almost certainly qualified for the play offs as well.

The Lions, Crusaders and Bulls have a mathematical chance of reaching the play offs but they will need other results to go their way.

1. Hurricanes (NZL) 57 points- after 14 matches played

June 5: Highlanders (H), June 13: Chiefs (A)

Note: Hurricanes have qualified for play-offs

2. Stormers (RSA) 43 points – after 14 matches played

June 6: Lions (H), June 13: Sharks (A)

3. Waratahs (AUS, holders) 42 points – after 14 matches played

June 6: Cheetahs (A), June 13: Queensland Reds (H)

4. Highlanders (NZL) 48 points – after 14 matches played

June 5: Hurricanes (A), June 12: Blues (A)

5. Chiefs (NZL) 44 – after 14 matches played

June 6: Queensland Reds (A), June 13: Hurricanes (H)

6. Brumbies (AUS) 42 points – after 14 matches played

June 5: Force (A), June 13: Crusaders (H)

7. Lions (RSA) 40 points – after 15 matches played

June 6 : Stormers (A), June 13 : Bye

8. Crusaders (NZL) 36 points – after 14 matches played

June 6 : Blues (A) , June 13 : Brumbies

9. Bulls (RSA) 36 points – after 14 matches played

June 6 : Rebels (A), June 13 Cheetahs (H)
