Reds beat the Western Force in Perth

Out of the last six Super Rugby matches between the Perth based Western Force and the Brisbane based Reds the Force have won four, drawn one and lost one.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Western Force kick off and we are underway. 

2.00: The Force knock on so the Reds have a scrum. It has to be reset. Twice. The Force win a penalty so they kick for touch. 

4.00: The line out is won by the Force but they knock on. Reds have a scrum in their 22. 

6.00: Penalty to the Reds for the Force front row angling in. The Reds kick for touch. 

8.00: James O’Connor concedes a penalty – coming in from the side. Dane Haylett-Petty is down and getting some attention from the medics. He comes off for a concussion test. The Force kick for touch. 

10.00: The Force win a scrum and put the Reds under pressure on their tryline. Ben McCalman has two goes for the line but the Reds keep him out. James Horwill concedes a penalty. 

12.00: Sias Ebersohn takes the penalty kick for posts and nails it. The Force are on the board. 

13.00: James O’Connor breaks down the wing and comes within a metre of scoring but is tackled short. The Reds recycle and then win a penalty. They take the quick tap and after a couple of goes at the line Samu Kerevi looks to have scored. The TMO will check. James Hanson is warned for a no arms tackle before the try so the TMO rules on that and does not even look at the try. The Force kick for touch. 

15.00: The Reds win a penalty in the Force’s half. They work the ball into the Force’s 22. The Reds go through 10 phases and get to the 5m line but lose the ball. They Reds win another penalty and they go wide and Quade Cooper slips over in the corner. 

18.00: Cooper hits the post and the ball bounces in off it. 

21.00: Steve Mafi breaks for the Force but is then caught. 

23.00: The Reds have a scrum in the Force’s 22. The Force however win a penalty from the scrum for the front row collapsing. They will clear the ball into touch. 

26.00: The Scrums are a problem in this contest. They are eating up time with resets. 

29.00: Penalty to the Reds from the scrum. Cooper lines up the posts. He nails it. 

31.00: The Force get a warning for penalties at the breakdown and maul. The Reds have a penalty and kick for touch. The line out will be about 10m out. 

34.00: Cooper sends a beautiful flick behind pass out to Lachie Turner and he races into to the corner for the second Reds TRY!

35.00: Cooper takes the conversion kick from out wide and nails it perfectly. 

37.00: The Reds look to hit back. They send Cummins through but he is stopped. The Force recycle and they go over under the posts. The TMO is called in to check the grounding. The TRY is awarded to Dane Haylett-Petty. 

38.00 : Ebersohn adds the conversion. 

40.00: The whistle goes for half time. It is half time.

The Reds kick off and we are underway with the second half. 

42.00: The Force win a penalty for not releasing the ball. They kick for touch. 

44.00: The Reds win a penalty for  Steve Mafi being offside. Lachie Turner kicks for the corner. 

46.00: The Reds go through the phases showing some good handling skills. They move the ball from side to side and eventually after some incredible passing Lachie Turner scores again in the corner. TRY! 

48.00: Cooper misses the conversion. 

51.00: The Reds are back on the attack. After 7 phases the Force manage to keep them out and win the put in at the scrum. Turner almost got in for a hat trick but was stopped early in the attack. 

53.00: The Force win another penalty so they kick for touch and the line out. They win the line out but kick the ball out on the full. 

56.00 Penalty to the Reds. Cooper will kick for posts. The crowd boos while he lines up the kick. He nails it. Reds possession this half is 81%. 

60.00: The Reds need another try for the bonus point. They get the ball into the Force’s 22 but then concede a penalty. The Force kick for touch. 

63.00: Will Genia pops the ball out to Quade Cooper after breaking  from the back of a scrum and Cooper goes in for the bonus point TRY and his second. 

63.00: Cooper adds the conversion. 

69.00: Quade Cooper and James O’Connor are replaced. The Force win a line out in their 22. They try to run the ball out of their 22 but hit a wall so they kick upfield. 

71.00: Karmichael Hunt limps off with an knee injury. 

76.00: The Force are looking to finish strongly. They are running the ball at the Reds. 

78.00: The Force go through 6 phases on attack and then win a penalty. They kick for touch. 

79.00: The Force win the line out. They work the ball to the Reds 5m line. 

80.00: The ball slows as the siren sounds. It becomes unplayable and the whistle goes. 

That’s it the Reds win.
