Remaining matches for Super Rugby title hopefuls

The conclusion of Super Rugby Round 15 means that there are just three rounds left of the regular Super Rugby season and here we look at what lies ahead for the hopefuls.

The Hurricanes lead the overall standings on 57 points and have three matches remaining.

The Hurricanes have won 12 of their 13 fixtures and now they need just three more points to secure the top spot. They can afford to lose all three matches as long as they earn bonus points from each match.

New Zealand Super Rugby franchises the Chiefs and Highlanders are the only other teams that can still finish the regular season at the top of the standings but a lot can happen before the standings are finalised.

All teams play 16 matches in a regular season and the Australian, New Zealand and South African conference winners plus the sides finishing fourth, fifth and sixth overall secure knockout places.
