Western Force beat Waratahs in Perth

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Perth based Western Force and the Sydney based Waratahs the Perth side have won two and the Sydney side three.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Waratahs kick off and we are underway. 

2.00: The Waratahs make a strong start to the match and go through 11 phases on attack but the Force hold them out, turn the ball over and kick the ball upfield. 

3.00: The Force win a line out and run the ball. Solomoni Jnr Rasolea goes down in a collision. He takes his time and gets some help but carries on. 

4.00: The Waratahs go through 4 phases and then kick. They are called back for a penalty. They kick for touch and the line out. 

8.00: The Waratahs up the attack in the Force’s half. Israel Folau almost gets through but is caught. There seems to be some confusion with the players at times as the jerseys are a little similar in colour. The Waratahs are playing in a grey/blue jeresey.

11.00: The Force put the Waratahs under pressure in their 22. The pressure pays off as the Force win a penalty and will kick for posts. There is a delay as Sias Ebersohn gets help from the doctor. 

12.00:  Marcel Brache takes the kick but misses. 

13.00: Another penalty to the Force. Luke Burton will take the kick. 

14.00:Burton takes the shot but misses. 

17.00: The Force try to kick and clear but it is charged down. The ball changes sides and Angus Cottrell gets the ball from a chip kick and he passes to Nick Cummins but he is caught. Israel Folau gets the ball and passes to Adam Ashley-Cooper who kicks for touch. 

18.00: Ebersogn comes back on for the Force after the concussion test. The Force turn the ball over and Ryan Louwrens slips through a gap and races for the line and scores. TRY! 

19.00: Luke Burton adds the conversion. 

23.00: The Waratahs work the ball to the Force’s 22. They win a penalty and will kick for posts. 

24.00: Bernard Foley is successful with the penalty. 

26.00: Penalty to the Waratahs. Foley takes the kick and slots it. 

28.00: The Force have the ball in the Waratahs 22. They go through 10 phases but knock on 5m out. They did have an advantage so we go back for a penalty. 

30.00: Burton slots the penalty. 

31.00: The Force get caught tackling a player without the ball. The Waratahs kick for touch and the line out. 

32.00: The TMO is called in for a look at foul play. Sekope Kepu is seen rucking a players head and Will Skelton with hands on a players face. Kepu gets a yellow. 

33.00: The Force take the line out with the penalty. They win the line out and kick for touch again. 

37.00: The Force have a scrum after a knock on. It has to be reset several times though which eats up time – while the Waratahs are down a man. 

38.00: Eventually the Force win a penalty as the scrum can’t complete. Burton will have a shot. 

39.00: Burton is successful with the penalty. 

40.00: The siren sounds for half time. We play on. The Waratahs win a penalty. Kurtley Beale will kick for posts. 

41.00;  Beale takes the kick but misses. Its half time. 

The half time score is Force 13 Waratahs 6

Sias Ebersohn kicks off and the second half is underway. 

41.00: The ball goes into touch so Waratahs have a line out.

42.00:Penalty to the Waratahs for hands in the ruck. Foley will take a shot at the posts. He misses. 

43.00: The Force sustain some pressure after a Folau and Naiyaravoro break and they win a penalty. They kick for touch. 

44.00: The Force win another penalty after the line out and again Ebersohn kicks for touch. 

46.00: Yet another penalty to the Force. This one is kickable. Burton takes the kick but misses. 

50.00: The Waratahs win a penalty inside their half Foley kicks for touch. 

52.00: The Waratahs move the ball wide to Taqele Naiyaravoro but it goes to ground. He runs back to collect the ball and then charges down the wing. He brushes off four tackles and scores. TRY 

53.00: Foley misses the conversion. 

56.00: Penalty to the Force. 52m out but Ebersohn says he will take the kick. Distance is fine but direction is off. 

60.00: Alby Mathewson comes on for Ryan Louwrens. 

62.00: The Waratahs concede a penalty to the Force in their half. The Waratahs are now on a final warning. The Force kick for touch and the line out. 

63.00: The Force set up the maul and it races for the line. Matt Hodgson goes over scores. TRY! 

64.00: Burton misses the conversion. 

66.00: Penalty from the scrum – front row collapsing – to the Waratahs. Foley takes the kick for touch. 

68.00: The Force turn the ball over and kick it upfield. The Waratahs have to chase it and dot it down. Michael Hooper has to leave the field limping. 

69.00: Penalty to the Waratahs and a yellow card for Matt Hodgson. The Waratahs take the line out. 

72.00: The Force defend the Waratahs attacks and then win a penalty. They kick for touch. 

76.00; The Force win a penalty from the scrum. Ebersohn will kick for posts. 

77.00: Ebersohn takes the shot but misses. 

79.00: The Waratahs knock on. The Force win a penalty from the scrum. They kick the ball into touch and that is it. 

The Western Force have won.
