Moala available for Blues against Rebels

Blues back George Moala is expected to line up in the Auckland Super Rugby franchise’s team to face the Rebels this week after he was discharged without conviction.

Moala was involved in bar fight but has been discharged without conviction on the charge of assault and the Blues have issued a statement saying that they and New Zealand Rugby have accepted the court’s decision.

The Blues beat the Force in Auckland last week but paid a price for the victory as several first choice players were injured in the match and Moala’s availability adds some much needed depth.

Had Moala been convicted he would not be allowed to travel to Australia as he would not have been given a Visa.

A statement from the Blues said, “With the judicial process complete, there remains an employment process to be concluded by the Blues and New Zealand Rugby over the next few weeks.”

“Meantime, George will be available for selection and continue to receive professional support in his personal development.”
