Cheetahs ring the changes for Stormers

Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has named his Super Rugby team to play the Stormers in Bloemfontein on Saturday with Joe Pietersen returning to the flyhalf role.

Drotske has made several changes to the side that lost to the Lions in Johannesburg last weekend with most of them coming in the back line.

Scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius is the only player that started in the backline last week that retains his place for the Stormers this week.

After starting at fullback Pietersen moves to flyhalf with Clayton Blommetjies taking over the number 15 jersey.

Johann Sadie’s knee injury has made way for a new mid-field parternship with Michael van der Spuy and Francois Venter lining up at 12 and 13 respectively.

Former Souther Kings back Sergeal Petersen and Rayno Benjamin are the wingers as Cornal Hendricks is being rested as per the SARU agreement.

Petersen will make his Super Rugby debut for the Cheetahs on left wing, after recovering from a broken jaw.

In the forwards Caylib Oosthuizen comes in to replace loosehead prop Danie Minnie and Coenie Oosthuizen is bracketed with Maks van Dyk at tighthead.

If Oosthuizen drops out Van Dyk will start and Ewald vd Westhuizen will come into the replacements. New on the bench is Dolph Botha, Francois Brummer and Danie Dames.
