Naiyaravoro out of Waratahs clash with Hurricanes

The Waratahs will be without in-form winger Taqele Naiyaravoro for this weekend’s match against Super Rugby leaders the Hurricanes due to a visa issue.

Fijian wing Naiyaravoro also missed the Waratahs match against the Highlanders in Dunedin last month and he is unable to leave Australia for the time being.

“Taqele’s visa application is an ongoing process and as such he is not able to travel overseas at this point in time,” a spokeswoman for the Waratahs told Reuters.

Waratahs assistant coach Daryl Gibson has confirmed that their twenty-three-year-old will not be joining the team in Wellington.

Naiyaravoro is the Waratahs leading try scorer with three tries so far for the season.

The winger could also miss the Waratahs trip to South Africa at the end of May due to the visa issue.

The Waratahs have matches against the Lions (May 30) and the Cheetahs on their South African tour.

Naiyaravoro is expected to be replaced by Wallabies winger Peter Betham.
