Reds coach Richard Graham has revealed that Dave McDuling has been sent back to Australia from South Africa and James Horwill has been called up to replace him.
McDuling injured his knee playing in the 43-22 loss to the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria and has been sent home to be assessed further.
Horwill was suspended for the match against the Bulls but is free to play against the Cheetahs in South Africa this weekend.
The Reds also expect to have James O’Connor back for this weekend.
