Force vs Cheetahs live Super Rugby score update

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Perth based Western Force and the Bloemfontein based Cheetahs the South African side have won three and lost two.

We are waiting for the kick off.

Joe Pietersen of the Cheetahs kicks off and we are underway.

2.00: Lots of kicking from both sides as they test each other under the high ball.

3.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs. Pietersen kicks for touch and sets up a line out in the Force’s 22.

4.00: The Cheetahs win the ball and use the maul but the counter maul drives the Cheetahs back. The Cheetahs move the ball to the backs.

5.00: The Cheetahs show patience and Raymond Rhule goes over in the corner. TRY!

6.00: The conversion is missed.

8.00: The Force look to hit back. They work the ball into the Cheetahs 22. Cummins has a run but is caught. The Force keep the ball going through the phases.

9.00: Haylet-Petty makes a dash for the line but is stopped short. The Force win a penalty for going off the feet.

10.00: The Force kick for the corner.

13.00: The Force continue to put the Cheetahs under pressure in their 22. They win a penalty from the scrum and choose another scrum.

15.00: The Force win the scrum and Haylett-Petty passes out to Luke Morahan who scores in the corner. TRY!

15.00:Luke Burton curls the conversion in.

20.00: Possession is at 64% for the Western Force – 36% for the Cheetahs.

23.00: Penalty to the Force from the scrum.  They choose a scrum again.

24.00: The Force win the scrum and pass the ball down the line. They lose it forward.

26.00: The Cheetahs win a penalty. They kick for touch and the line out.

28.00: The Cheetahs win the line out and try to crash through the Force’s defence but the handling lets them down. Knock on.

30.00: Missed tackles Force 2 Cheetahs 10.

31.00: The Cheetahs win a line out. They run the ball and Coenie Oosthuizen bashes into Kane Koteka, the Cheetahs pass the ball down the line but concede a penalty. Alcock comes on for Koteka – concussion test.

33.00: The Force win the line out and use the maul to drive for the line. The Cheetahs hold them out but knock on.

36.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs – hands in the ruck. Pietersen takes the shot and nails it putting the Cheetahs into the lead.

38.00; Penalty to the Force. Luke Burton will kick for posts. It is raining fairly heavily. He nails it. The Force lead.

40.00: Penalty before the siren sounds for the Force. Willie Britz is involved in a fight with someone but everyone jumps in. Ebersohn will kick for posts from 52m out.

41.00: Ebersohn takes the kick but misses. Its half time.

The Force kick off and we are underway with the second half.

41.00: The Cheetahs set up a line out about 10m out. They win the ball but have to take it back into touch.

42.00: The Force win the line out and use the maul. They drive for the line and Chris Alcock scores. TRY!

44.00: Luke Burton takes the conversion kick and he hits the left post.

46.00: The Force concede a penalty in front so Pietersen takes the kick and nails it.

49.00: The Cheetahs work the ball into the Force’s half and Pietersen sits back for the drop, he fires it off and nails it.

54.00: The Force work the ball into the Cheetahs 22. The Cheetahs defend and then turn the ball over and kick it upfield.

58.00: The scrums are battling to complete so the referee has word with the front rows.

60.00 : Penalty for front rows angling in to the Force. The Cheetahs react and start a small fight but it dies down. The ref has a word with the Cheetahs so they are on a warning. The Force kick for touch.

64.00: Cornal Hendricks gets the ball from Johann Sadie and races for the line. Kyle Godwin just catches him but the Force concede a penalty.

66.00: The Force win the line out and use the maul to drive over the line and Heinrich Brussow scores. TRY! The Cheetahs lead.

67.00: Pietersen takes the conversion and nails it.

71.00: The Force hold on to the ball and go through 11 phases on attack in the Cheetahs half. They continue the attack. 13 phases and still they go.

73.00: 21 phases and still the Force attack. Into the Cheetahs 22 and up to the 5m line. They pass the ball to Cummins but he knocks on. The Cheetahs kick the ball upfield and there is a chase from both sides to get the ball. Morahan gets to the ball and kicks it into touch.

75.00:Penalty to the Cheetahs. They will kick for posts and wind down the clock.

76.00: Pietersen takes the kick and slots it. Cheetahs lead by 9.

77.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs for not releasing the ball. They kick for touch as they are in their half.

79.00: The Cheetahs are winding the clock down. Untied shoelaces and so on. The Force win the scrum and run at the Cheetahs.

The siren sounds and the ball is kicked into touch. The Cheetahs have won.
