Argentina sign captain Creevy for Super Rugby

Agustin Creevy will win his 50th cap for Argentina

Argentina’s international hooker Agustin Creevy has announced that he will leave English Club Worcester Warriors and return home to play Super Rugby in 2016.

Argentina will have a Super Rugby team in 2016 and they have already signed several of their core players but Creevy is the first European based player to sign.

The Argentina Rugby Federation confirmed the signing of the Pumas captain who has been with Worcester for the last two years.

It is understood that Creevy rejected an off from Irish club Munster and signed a three year deal with the Argentina Rugby Union instead.

Creevy said: “I have immensely enjoyed my time at Sixways and I must say a huge thank you to Dean Ryan and all the backroom staff at the Club for their support.

“It was an extremely tough decision to leave a Club which is progressing so rapidly but I could not turn down the opportunity to return to Argentina ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

“I have witnessed a complete transformation of this Club since I arrived in 2013 and there is no doubt Warriors have a very exciting future.”

Creevy has a wealth of experience having previously played for Biarritz, Clermont and Montpellier.
