Reds lose two players to injury but get two back

The Reds will be without fullback Jamie-Jerry Taulagi and flyhalf Duncan Paia’aua for this week’s Super Rugby match against the Force in Brisbane.

The Reds went down 47-3 to the Brumbies in their opening fixture with Karmichael Hunt at flyhalf but this week utility back James O’Connor is available for selection.

Taulagi suffered a Grade 2 MCL strain during the Reds’ loss to the Brumbies on Friday and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Paia’aua received a concussion in the same game and failed a Return to Play test today, ruling him out of this weekend’s match.

Reds head coach Richard Graham confirmed that O’Connor and former All Blacks loose forward Adam Thomson are available for selection this week, after overcoming injury concerns which ruled them out of last week’s season opener against the Brumbies.
