Crusaders to bring All Blacks in for Rebels clash

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder has revealed that he will bring in some of his All Blacks for the Super Rugby opener against the Rebels in Christchurch on Friday.

The Crusaders have lost all of their pre-season games and are wary of making yet another slow start to the Super Rugby season.

They have lost a experienced starting halfback and are lacking a bit of confidence so Blackadder hopes that bringing in some of biggest names will give the team a boost.

Richie McCaw, Wyatt Crockett and Ryan Crotty have all been penciled in for Friday’s Super rugby opener.

“Those three guys (McCaw, Crockett and Crotty) are definitely available but we are not certain what part they will play – some might in the reserves, others might not,” Blackadder told TVNZ.

“They shouldn’t been too rusty, they are all experienced players and have been training with us for the last couple of weeks. It shouldn’t take too much for them to make the transition.”

Blackadder will also have All Blacks Dan Carter available for the season opener but Israel Dagg will only be back in round two and Kieran Read and Sam Whitelock in round five.

Under agreement with the All Blacks every potential World Cup squad member will be rested at some stage in the season.
