Sharks hold on to edge Toulon in France

South African Super Rugby franchise the Sharks kicked their way to a 10-12 victory over European Champions Toulon at Stade Mayol on Thursday.

Toulon scored both of the matches tries and whilst the Sharks were kept tryless they kicked four penalties to win the match.

Toulon could have won the match with a penalty on the stroke of full time but Nicolas Sanchez’s penalty kick went wide.

Sanchez set up both of the games tries which were scored by former Hurricanes, Blues and Western Force winger David Smith.

The Sharks start their Super Rugby campaign next weekend on Saturday with a match at home in Durban against fellow South African side the Cheetahs.
