Harlequins thump Castres but fail to qualify

English club Harlequins scored 7 tries as they thumped Castres 19-47 at Stade Pierre Antoine but it was not enough to keep them alive in the European Rugby Champion Cup.

Harlequins earned a bonus point victory but as Wasps drew with Leinster Quins were effectively knocked out of the running for the quarter finals.

Harlequins finish level on points with Wasps but with an inferior points difference so Wasps could advance.

The result does however mean that Racing Metro qualified from Pool 5 before their match kicked off against Northampton, as they already have 19 points, one more than Wasps and even if they lose to the Saints they will qualify as one of the best runners-up.

More to follow.
