Auckland based Super Rugby franchise the Blues and New Zealand rugby have revealed that they have agreed to release Blues loose forward Peter Saili with immediate effect.
The NZRU and the Blues have terminated forward Peter Saili’s employment contract with immediate effect allowing him to take up a position in France.
Twenty-seven-year-old Saili will leave the Blues immediately and take up his new contract in France later this month.
New Zealand Rugby General Manager Rugby Neil Sorensen said that all three parties were satisfied with the outcome.
Blues Chief Executive Michael Redman said the Blues are currently considering their options for a replacement player in the 2015 squad.
Saili played 71 games for the Blues since his debut in 2009.
The Blues said that details of his severance are confidential and no further details will be given so it is not yet know who Saili will be playing for in France.
