Spedding switches from Bayonne to Clermont

Bayonne’s France international fullback Scott Spedding has signed a new contract to play Top14 Rugby for Clermont next season.

South African born Spedding has been playing his game in France since 2008 having joined Bayonne but then moved to Bayonne four years later.

The length of his time in France made made him eligible to play international rugby for France and the 28-year-old earned a call-up for the November Test matches due to Brice Dulin’s injury, playing against Australia, Fiji and Argentina.

“Scott knows our championship well and we know that he is the type of guy who gives his all and who integrates well,” said Clermont head coach Franck Azema.

“We are convinced that he will make further progress at ASM Clermont Auvergne.”
