Burrell to miss England clash against All Blacks

England and Northampton Saints centre Luther Burrell has been ruled out of England’s opening Test against New Zealand’s All Blacks but not the series.

England coach Stuart Lancaster has released an update on the availability of players from the training camp preparing for the Autumn Internationals.

Luther Burrell injured his hand playing for Northampton Saints on Saturday and will see a specialist about the injury.

While he has been ruled out of the Test against the All Blacks he is, “still in the equation and not out of the series”.

A number of other players picked up injury niggles in last week’s European Rugby Champions Cup and will not train this week but should be available for training next week.

Kyle Eastmond has a rib complaint and Marlande Yarde is struggling with an ankle injury while Joe Marler has a calf injury.

Billy Vunipola (concussion) and James Haskell (virus) will not train fully this week but should be available for training on Monday.
