Blue Bulls lose Odendaal for the rest of the season

Burger Odendaal has been named in the Blue Bulls line up

Blue Bulls inside centre Burger Odendaal has been ruled out of all rugby for the next two months after breaking his arm in the Currie Cup match against Griquas.

Odendaal suffered a broken arm in the Blue Bulls 46-12 final round Currie Cup victory over the Griquas on Saturday and will be out of action for between 8-10 weeks.

Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss confirmed on that the centre suffered a Galleazi fracture to his arm.

The injury mean that Odendaal will miss Saturday’s Currie Cup semi-final match against Western Province and he is only likely to return next season.

The Blue Bulls have also revealed that Piet van Zyl is another casualty from the match and will given until Thursday to rest an ankle sprain.

Van Zyl will undergo physiotherapy until Thursday when a decision on his fitness will be made.
