New Zealand beat Argentina in La Plata

Out of the last five Rugby Championship matches between Argentina’s Pumas and New Zealand’s All Blacks the All Blacks have won all five.

We are waiting for the kick off.

1.00: Argentina kick off and we are underway. The Pumas immediately turn the ball over and try to set up their attack but they knock on. Joe Moody comes on for Wyatt Crockett for a blood injury.

2.00: The All Blacks win their scrum and kick upfield. The ball stays in play and the All Blacks win it back and then they win a penalty for not rolling away.

3.00: Barrett finds touch 5m out so the All Blacks have a 5m attacking line out.

4.00: Penalty to New Zealand. Beauden Barrett takes the kick and nails it. New Zealand lead.

7.00: The All Blacks are starting to find gaps in the Pumas defence. They are playing a quick game and the Pumas are struggling to contain them.

8.00: New Zealand get a penalty from the ruck. Barrett will kick again.

9.00: Barrett nails the kick and extends the lead.

11.00:The All Blacks win a line out and they move the ball out to Israel Dagg who gets close but passes back to Ben Smith who scores. TRY!

12.00: Barrett slots the conversion.

15.00: Argentina come close to scoring but Aaron Smith beats the Pumas to the ball and saves the try. However we go back for a penalty against Israel Dagg.  

16.00: Nicolas Sanchez slots the penalty and Argentina are on the board.

20.00: The All Blacks try to attack but then kick. The Pumas get back but the All Blacks intercept and when they pass the Pumas intercept.

21.00: The Pumas go through 7 phases on attack but then they win a penalty for a high tackle.

23.00: Sanchez hits the post with his penalty so the scores stay the same.

24.00: Conrad Smith passes to Ben Smith who passes to Israel Dagg who slips through a gap and races away to score. Fekitoa helped to create that as well. TRY!

25.00: Barrett slots the conversion.

30.00: Argentina win a line out and attack. They get to the 5m line but then the All Blacks turn the ball over and kick upfield.

33.00: The All Blacks continue to attack. Barrett chips the ball ahead but Fekitoa was offside so Argentina have a penalty. They kick for touch.

35.00: Penalty to Argentina for offside. They will kick for posts.

36.00: Sanchez slots the penalty and cuts the lead a little.

37.00: Fekitoa has a little break for the All Blacks but its killed off when Barrett slips the pass forward.

39.00: Argentina kick upfield and the ball goes to Savea who runs it. The All Blacks attack but on the half way line the Pumas turn the ball over and they attack.

Beauden Barrett kicks off and the second half is underway.

41.00: The All Blacks make a strong start and Malakai Fekitoa gets the ball from Richie McCaw and looks to be in but he loses the ball on the 5m line.

41.00: Argentina win a penalty from the scrum so they kick for touch.

45.00:  Referee Craig Joubert has to have a talk to the hookers as there are too many penalties coming in this area.

47.00: Penalty to New Zealand from the breakdown. Barrett kicks for touch instead of posts.

50.00: After some deliberation the All Blacks include some backs in their line out but the Pumas still manage to defend.

52.00: Juan Imhoff fails to release the ball so the All Blacks have another penalty. Barrett kicks for touch again.

54.00: The All Blacks win the line out and Barrett chips ahead and Savea chases. The ball bounces up for Savea and he scores. TRY! The TMO checks and the replay shows he was slightly ahead of the kicker so No TRY and a penalty instead.
