Sivivatu to miss three months of Top14 Rugby

Former All Black winger Sitiveni Sivivatu looks set to miss up to three and a half months of the new Top14 rugby season after undergoing an shoulder operation.

The injury is a blow to the 2013 Top14 Rugby champions Castres as Sivivatu was their headline signing in the off season.

Sivivatu joined Castres from Clermont on a three year deal but was already suffering from shoulder problems which contributed to him scoring just four tries last season.

Castres won the Top14 title in 2013 and last season they met the same opposition in the final but in 2014 Toulon beat Castres.

Castres start their Top14 season against Stade Francais on Saturday and will be without props Karena Wihongi and Yannick Forestier as well as lock Benjamin Desroche.
