Waratahs beat Brumbies in Sydney

Out of the last five matches between the Waratahs and the Brumbies the Sydney based Waratahs have won two matches and the Brumbies have won three.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Waratahs kick off and we are underway.

2.00:The Brumbies get the better start as they boot the ball back and Henry Speight chases. The Waratahs however win a penalty so they kick for touch.

3.00: The Brumbies win the line out and attack. Out of nothing as the Brumbies are attacking Alofa Alofa picks up a loose ball after a long but poor pass and races for the line. Coleman and Mogg give chase but he gets to the line from 60m out and scores. TRY!

4.00: Foley misses the conversion.

6.00: The Waratahs almost get into space again as Jacques Potgieter gets through but then is caught. The Waratahs try to recycle but the Brumbies turn the ball over. We are called back for a knock on though.

9.00: The Brumbies eventually win the scrum and Mogg boost for touch. The waratahs win the line out. Phipps makes a break and gets past one but he is stopped and loses the ball forward. Waratahs are looking dangerous.

11.00: The Brumbies try to attack and Mogg almost gets around Hooper but Hooper hangs on with one hand on his shorts and drags him down to ground.

13.00: The Waratahs try to attack again but they knock on.

15.00: The Brumbies work the ball down to the Waratahs 22. They win a line out and go to the short side but they knock on.

18.00: The game is held up by a break for Leon Power who has a bit of cramp. The game resumes.

19.00: The Waratahs win a penalty so they kick for touch. They win the line out and go through a couple of phases and win another penalty. Foley will kick for posts.  

21.00: Foley takes the penalty kick and nails it.

22.00: The Brumbies try to run the ball back at the Waratahs but Mogg runs straight for Hooper who stops him dead and the Brumbies support enters the ruck illegally so the Tahs have another penalty.

24.00:The Waratahs win the line out and start their attack.

25.00: The touchie comes in for some foul play. Phipps connects with Coleman without the ball so the Brumbies are awarded a penalty. They kick for the corner.

27.00: The Brumbies work the ball into the Waratahs 22. They win a penalty so they kick for the corner. The Brumbies win the line out and get to a metre out.

28.00: The Brumbies go wide but are stopped. We go back for a “not releasing” penalty. They choose a 5m scrum.

30.00: The Brumbies win the scrum, they suck the Waratahs in under the posts and then they go wide out to Henry Speight who scores in the corner. TRY ! The TMO checks.

31.00: Christian Lealiifano takes the conversion but misses.

34.00: The Brumbies get the ball after the Waratahs chip ahead. Mogg tries to run the ball out but is stopped by Foley and the Brumbies win a penalty for tackler not releasing. The Brumbies kick for touch.

37.00: The Brumbies win the line out and make some ground. They win another penalty for offside so they kick for touch again.

38.00: Penalty to the Brumbies again. Lealiifano takes the shot and nails it to level the scores. Brumbies have the momentum at the moment.

39.00: Penalty to the Waratahs. Hands in the ruck.

40.00: Foley takes the penalty kick after the siren. He nails it.

The Brumbies kick off and we are underway with the second half.

42.00: The Brumbies win an early penalty and the Waratahs get a warning for killing the ball. Lealiifano takes the shot at posts from in front but misses.

44.00: The Waratahs win a penalty from the scrum as the Brumbies front row collapses. They kick for touch and the line out.
