Lambie starts for Sharks against Crusaders

The Sharks have named their team to play in the Semi-final against the Crusaders in Christchurch with Patrick Lambie starting at flyhalf and Bismarck du Plessis captaining the team.

Sharks Director of Rugby Jake White has made a number of changes to the team
that beat the Highlanders partially due to injury.

Anton Bresler was ruled out with a knee injury and stayed home in Durban so
Willem Alberts shifts from flank to the second row, with his place on the side
of the scrum taken by Jean Deysel.

Deysel’s move into the starting line up opens a space for Tera Mtembu on the
replacements bench.

In the backline Patrick Lambie starts at flyhalf so Frans Steyn moves from
from 10 to 12 while Paul Jordaan wears the number 13 jersey which was worn by
JP Pietersen last week.

Pietersen moves to the wing with S’bura Sithole moving to the replacements
bench.

Jake White says that even though the Sharks beat the Crusaders at the same
venue earlier this year they face a massive task this weekend.

“The Crusaders are a phenomenal team, we’re under no illusions of
how good they are and what they’ve achieved, but we have to prepare as
best we can to give ourselves a chance,” said White. .

“They have players in their team who won the Rugby World Cup a few years
ago, they have guys who are consistently in play-off games, the team hasn’t
missed out on play-off rugby in a long time, and all these guys have been part
and parcel of play-off games, so I have no doubt that with the team they have
available and the experience they have, they’ll be a massive force.”
