Brussow’s Super Rugby ends early due to surgery

Cheetahs flanker Heinrich Brussow will miss his team’s final regular season Super Rugby match against the Lions due to an injury.

Brussow missed the Cheetahs 27-20 Super Rugby victory over the Sharks last weekend due to a groin injury.

Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has now revealed to flanker Brussow will have an operation later this week as the pain in his groin has not subsided.

The operation means that Brussow will not play for the Cheetahs in Super Rugby or the Currie Cup again this year as he will play in Japan for the Docomo Red Hurricanes later this year.

Brussow has not yet agreed to play for the Bloemfontein based Super Rugby franchise next season but it is expected that he will return.
