Auckland based Super Rugby franchise the Blues will be without winger Frank Halai for their final regular season match against the Chiefs.
Halai suffered a grade one left ankle sprain when he scored a 95m intercept try against the Crusaders on Saturday in Christchurch. Halai’s try was the Blues only try against the Crusaders.
The ninth placed Blues lost the match 21-13 and now have a mathematical chance of reaching the play offs.
The Blues have also revealed that fullback Lolagi Visinia sustained a haematoma to his left quad and both Steven Luatua and Tony Woodcock have shoulder injuries
Blues medical staff will monitor all three players through the week and they will be assessed before the Blues release the team to play the Chiefs.
The Chiefs moved up to eighth place in the Super Rugby standings and a victory over the Blues could earn them a place in the play offs.
