Hurricanes short of hookers for Chiefs clash

The Hurricanes have named their team to play the Chiefs in Hamilton on Friday but left out the name of their hooker and made at least two forced changes.

The Canes have a bye next weekend so they only have the match against the Chiefs Chiefs on Friday to put themselves in the best position possible to qualify for the play offs.

For both sides, nothing short of a win is required, and Mark Hammett’s men are focused on backing up what was an uplifting 16-9 win over the Crusaders in Wellington last weekend.

In terms of selection, injuries to Alapati Leiua and Victor Vito in last Saturday’s match have made way for Hadleigh Parkes to start in second five-eighth, while Brad Shields moves to the back of the scrum.

Who occupies the number two jersey remains to be seen, with team management continuing to monitor the injuries of Dane Coles, Ash Dixon, and Motu Matu’u throughout the remainder of the week.
