The Eastern Province Kings gave the Bulls a wake up call ahead of their return to Super Rugby by beating a Bulls XV 66-28 in a friendly at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday.
The Kings outscored the Bulls by 10 tries to three in the Super Rugby warm up match.
The victory will give the Kings a big boost ahead of their re-entry into the Currie Cup Premier Division in August.
Earlier this year the Kings lost to the Cheetahs, Lions and Stormers but the revived Kings looked a much stronger unit after their warm up last week against Wales.
The match was also captain Luke Watson’s return match following a long time on the sidelines and he scored one of the home side’s tries in the ninth minute of the match.
