Waratahs winger Alofa Alofa to play in France

Recently promoted Top 14 Rugby club La Rochelle has announced that they have signed Waratahs winger Alofa Alofa.

Waratahs winger Alofa crossed codes from NRL club the Sydney Roosters to Sydney club rugby last season and made an impression by scoring thirteen tries for West Harbour.

Twenty-three-year-old Alofa joined the Waratahs at the start of this season and scored a try in his Super Rugby debut in Round one against the Waratahs.

Alofa’s departure will not put too much strain on the Waratahs as they have Rob Horne, Peter Betham, Matt Carraro, Cam Crawford and Taqele Naiyaravoro in the squad.

La Rochelle also announced that they had signed former Hurricanes lock Jason Eaton and Stormers flyhalf Peter Grant.
