Crusaders beat the Force in Christchurch

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Christchurch based Crusaders and the Perth based Western Force the Crusaders have won two, the Force two and there was a draw.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Crusaders kick off and we are underway.

1.00: The Force have the put in for the first scrum of the match. The Force initially win the ball but it gets pulled back in and the Crusaders come away with the ball.

2.00: The Crusaders go through the phase in the Force’s 22. They slowly edge forward.

3.00: The Crusaders move the ball wide for Nemani Nadolo but the ball goes out. We go back for a knock on.

5.00: The Crusaders look to attack again. They manage to stretch the Force’s defence but the ball is passed down the line and goes out.

7.00: The Crusaders win two line outs and attack the Force but they knock on.

8.00: The Force win a scrum and kick deep. The Crusaders kick the ball back and the Force work the ball into the Crusaders have for the first time.

9.00: Penalty to the Crusaders. They kick for touch.

10.00: The Crusaders win the line out. They start the attack just outside the Force’s 22 and then the Force give a penalty away. Colin Slade will kick for posts.

11.00: Slade takes the shot and nails it.

13.00: Andy Ellis makes a break for the Crusaders and passes down to Nadolo on the wing but the Force just get back and save a try pushing Nadolo into touch.

15.00: The Force are under constant pressure in their half. They try to clear the ball from their 22 but it gets charged down. Dominic Bird chases the ball but the dead ball line wins.

18.00: The Crusaders have a line out on the Force’s 5m line. They win the line out and then concede a penalty on the 5m line. The Force get a warning.

19.00: The Crusaders choose a scrum for the penalty on the 5m line.

20.00: The Crusaders win the scrum and pass the ball to Nadolo again. He is stopped short and the Crusaders recycle. The ball becomes unplayable but as the Crusaders were going forward they get the scrum.

22.00: Penalty to the Crusaders. Slade takes the kick and nails it.  

24.00: The Crusaders try the high ball to the wing but the Force get back to defend. The Crusaders recycle and Israel Dagg shoves off one and passes out to Johnny McNicholl who races through for the opening TRY!

25.00: Slade adds the conversion.

28.00: The Force try to attack in the Crusaders 22 but the home side turn the ball over and Dagg boots the ball well downfield and into touch.

29.00: Penalty to the Force in their half for going off the feet. They kick for touch.

31.00: The attack from the Crusaders is relentless. Jordan Taufua almost gets through but he is stopped. The Crusaders recycle and go wide. Johnny McNicholl gets the ball and scores in the corner. The TMO will check. No try and a penalty to the Force as they was a player taken out. The Force kick for touch.

33.00: Nick Cummins slips with the ball and knocks on. The Crusaders have a scrum and they win a penalty. They take the scrum and then kick.

35.00; The Force turn the ball over and Sias Ebersohn kicks for touch pushing the Crusaders back to the half way line.

40.00: The Crusaders have the ball as the siren sounds. They keep the ball alive and go through the phases. The Force turn the ball over and then the Crusaders win it back.

41.00: Penalty to the Crusaders. A small fight breaks out and then dies down. Slade takes the kick and he nails it.

It’s half time.

The half time score was Crusaders 16 Force 0

The Force kick off and we are underway with the second half.

42.00: The Crusaders continue where they left off in the first half. The Force defence holds strong.

44.00: The Crusaders win a line
